:doh: I'm confusing days in english and portuguese... The race is SUNDAY, day 5th. Better make that clear on the topic since I can't change the title...
I like Di Grassi, he's probably the best driver we have from the "new generation" (and probably the last, since we only got crap stock cars now). He did a great GP2 season and wasn't in a top team (or was?).
There's Senna as well, but I don't think he's "ready", so to speak. I mean he has potential, but can you put a guy that has been racing for 4 years in F1?
PS: Piquet's problem might come from the fact he has always raced for his father. Renault was the first time, if I'm not mistaken, he's on his own. You can say his name put him where he is now, wich seems to be the opposite of Bruno Senna.
I can change it if it's ok for everyone, doesn't really matter for me. I put 18:00 because seem to be a reasonable time for everyone... If most people think 17:00 is better, than we do it at 17:00.
Hello, I'm kind of bored today and probably the same will happen next sunday, 05/10/08 (title is wrong), so I'm posting this to see if there's people interested on a just for fun sunday race.
Cars would be XRG and XFG;
Track would be Aston North Rev (AS7R);
Start time would be 18:00 UTC;
Server would be [SR] Race Server 1 (all set up, thanks Sonicrealms!);
Event would consist in a 15min qualify followed by an 1 hour race with at least one pit stop required.
Provided we have enough people - like 10 or more - and a server, the race will happen.
Lastly, this should be a fun event. In order to achieve that, please respect your fellow racers, normal racing rules and use common sense.
Everyone is welcome, so post here if you're interested and confirm your participation if you can. In the case of lots of people come, I will use that confirmation to build a list and password the server.

Jesus can we cut the Hamilton/Ferrari crap? It's so bloody annoying to read the thread...
Veeery bad night for the brazilians, even if it wasn't Massa's fault. Piquet useless (he said the TEAM changed his setup before qualify, but who knows...) and Rubens so unlucky he couldn't even throw his gloves to the people lol! Ferrari screwed things as usual, looks like Mr. I-push-the-button-that-makes-that-stupid-thing-in-pit-stop-go-green will be looking for a job on Monday.
Crazy race overall, but was kind of expected. Rosberg saved the finns, Hamilton was ok-ish, Glock appeared out of nowhere in 4th (what happened to him after that accident in Germany?), Vettel solid, BMW poor, Bourdais poor. Yay for Coulthard, and very nice to see Alonso on top again! Give him a bloody good car!
Oh well, looking good for Lewis again, let's see what happens.
Edit: forgot about Webber. Is it just me or he didn't want to race?
Not really. According to this (portuguese only) he said "obviously the tyre choice didn't work as well today in Q3, where I touched the walls a few times, wich unfornately made me lose time" (I'm translating from pt so it might be slightly different than what he actually said). Looks like he screwed.
Nice lap! I think Massa wins this if his car lasts. The other cars seem too hard to drive... that and Lewis over-agressive style will probably mean to much tyre wear, but we'll see.
Should be interesting to see Alonso climbing the field too, although he already said it's impossible to overtake and everything is lost.
If you can't for whatever reason, playing with keyboard+mouse is not the end of the world really. If you're willing to try, check out this tips:
1) first thing you might want to try is decrease the button control rate (under options/controls). That will give you a more smooth braking/acceleration, but also increase your braking distances a bit.
2) I find more comfortable to have brake, gas and clutch on keyboard and gears on mouse buttons. Keeping a mouse button pressed for long periods of time will stress your hand much more (at least on my mouse).
3) Play around with the steer centre reduction (again under options/controls) untill you're comfortable with it. Having a higher value means the mouse moviment will be slower when the wheel is near the centre (more precision when you're going straight, ie. at high speeds). At lower values, you can turn faster but with less precision. Zero means no effects on mouse moviment speed.
4) As AndroidXP said, you'll probably need slightly different car setups to deal with the lack of brake/gas axis. So if you try a "world record" setup only to find you can't drive it, don't worry. There are much more friendly setups around. Have a look at the car setups section or ask around, I'm sure people will be happy to share theirs.
I want the race to start dry, then get wet after 10 laps. I want Massa and Hamilton to spin together, so they'd have to battle their way through the field together while battling themselves. I want the track to be dry again half way to the end, so we can see people trying slicks on a not-so-dry track. I want the McLaren's Kimi back. I want Kubica and Vettel to have a battle. I want Alonso with a car capable of winning. And I want very light rain in the last 5 laps - so people have to choose if changing tyres is a good idea.
I think the clubs don't have to spend much (if any) money. I've read somewhere that SF basically just borrows their names and colors - the brazilian clubs wouldn't have any change to afford a racing season.
Speaking about the races, I told ya! Pizzonia is pure fail.
Quite the opposite, really. When he started I was amazed, I even wanted him to beat Alonso! But things changed fast, I laughed so hard when Alonso got the pole in Hungary.
There's no doubt he is very talented, but all that he is proving now is that he is a dirty, arrogant ****.
Thanks for that, sounds like an interesting band from the few songs I heard. I'm going to watch the DVD and then I get back here to write what I think.
